2nd Anniversary

Yesterday was our 2 year anniversary.  We had our special anniversary date on Friday night.  D picked me up from work and we headed over to one of our favorite places.

Since D is in law school and we don’t have much money for dates, we’ve spent many dates browsing the bookshelves at Barnes and Noble.  We didn’t think our anniversary weekend should be any different.

We headed over to the café first and had some soup and cheesecake.  Then, we spent a couple hours browsing.

It was fortunate that we went out on Friday because yesterday, I was sick.  So I spent the day in bed while D went to church and fulfilled his church responsibilities.  However, when he got home, we were still able to spend the afternoon and evening together making popcorn and playing games.

This year has been a little rocky for us.  Don’t get me wrong, our relationship is great.  However, extenuating circumstances have made this year harder than our first year.  Moving to Chicago where I have struggled to make friends and unsuccessfully trying to conceive have made for a stressful and challenging year.  Nonetheless, D has been extremely patient and loving with me.  I am so grateful to have him in my life.  Each day I am reminded how lucky I am to be married to him.

Here are just a few reasons why I love my husband (in no particular order).

·         He’s hardworking
·         His sense of humor: he loves to joke around but he also knows when to be serious
·         He’s patient
·         He helps me around the house
·         He loves to serve others
·         He sees the good in everyone he meets
·         He’s affectionate
·         He motivates me to be better but loves me for who I am

In honor of our anniversary, here are a few photos of our special day.

Love your pics! We spend a ton of time in B and N too! In college, before we got married we would go to Subway and split a $5 footlong. It's definitely the quality of the time spent not the money dropped! Congrats on your 2 years!
