Anatomy Scan

This morning we had our anatomy scan.  I was so nervous on our way there that I was sure I was going to throw up.  I'm not sure why I was nervous but it may have been because I'm always worried something has gone wrong since the last appointment.

But it couldn't have gone any better.  The ultrasound tech told my doctor it was a "beautiful scan" meaning everything was really easy to find and the baby looked great with no problems.  And, the baby cooperated too!  It was such a relief!

And the best part is we found out we are having a girl!  We are both so surprised.  We were positive we were having a boy.  I still can't believe it.  But I am so excited!  D is speechless.  He wanted a girl all along.  I can't wait to see him with his baby girl in less than five months.

(Sorry for the bad quality... I don't have a scanner and the lighting in my apartment is horrible!)

Isn't she cute?  I love her little nose.

One of my favorite moments of the whole ultrasound was when the tech zoomed up close on Baby Girl's face.  Baby Girl's hands were tucked up close to her face and she just looked so cute.  Then, the tech said something (I don't remember what) that was pretty funny.  D and I laughed and either the noise or the jostling of my stomach startled her and she jumped and started fidgeting.  It was wonderful and amazing to see.

On the way home, we stopped at Target and bought two new outfits for Baby Girl.  I can't wait until we get to dress her in them.  I know she'll look adorable.

This pregnancy feels so much more real to me now.  It's hard to believe that I can love someone that I've never met so much but it's true.  And I know that the love I have for Baby Girl will grow stronger with each passing day.

The first thing we did after our anatomy scan was go buy gender specific clothes too! It felt so good :) Congratulations on your baby girl!
