This is Me

I've been a little absent from Bloggyland the last few months (with good reason) so I thought I would devote a post to re-introducing myself and my husband to the world.

My name is Allison
I'm a West Coast native living in Illinois.  I am the wife of a National Guard soldier who is also a law student.  I quit my job as a preschool teacher a few months ago so aside from one day a week when I babysit, I am a stay-at-home wife.  I love classic movies and old sitcoms and hate reality TV (besides Dancing With the Stars.)  I'm a homebody who would much rather be at home at night with a good book than out with a big group of people.  I'm content with having a few good friends.  I try to be crafty but I admit I'm a lot better in the kitchen.

This is D
He's my husband of 2 1/2 years and the sweetest guy I know.  He's a law student and a National Guard soldier who aspires to one day be a member of the JAG Corps.  He's hard working, smart, caring, and easy going.  He's also just a big kid at heart.  He loves to run but if he was allowed, he'd spend all day playing soccer.  He's a sweetheart who is willing to wake up earlier than he needs to just to do the dishes and clean the kitchen so his wife won't have to.  He's sentimental and romantic but tough and manly at the same time.  And, he's my best friend.

This is us.
We started dating the fall of 2009 and got married six months later in April 2010.  We met on a blind date.  He liked me right away but it took me a little longer to reciprocate the feelings.  But we're proof that some blind dates actually work out.  We've been married for 2 1/2 years and couldn't be happier!

Love that you're back on the scene! You and your husband are so cute. Being a housewife has been so great for us. I really love keeping the house in order and our lives on track. Good luck to your hubs in law school! His plan sounds incredible.
