MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

It’s Friday!  It’s the end of the week!  I’m not going to lie, it’s been an exhausting week.  Good, but exhausting.  I’m looking forward to spending a nice weekend with D.

Thanks to Wife of a Sailor for another great Friday Fill-In.  And without further ado, let’s get right to it.

1.      1.  What is your favorite winter memory?
Let’s see, my favorite winter memory?  I don’t have very many because the fact of the matter, I don’t like winter.  I don’t like icy roads and I don’t like being cold.  I prefer to be inside cuddled up under a blanket in my pajamas.

That being said, my favorite memory is probably when I was young and carefree and living at home.  It doesn’t snow much in western Washington so when it does, or when there’s even a possibility of snow, you can count on a snow day.  I can remember one day when school was cancelled even when there was no snow on the ground.  Anyway, my favorite memory consists of no school, sledding down the hill by my sister’s friend’s house and then coming home and spending the rest of the day in the warmth of my house.

2.       2. What is your current favorite TV show?
I love Biggest Loser.  It’s one of two shows that I watch every single week.  The other one is Once Upon a Time but I have some serious issues with that show right now.  What is with Snow White’s Storybrook character having an affair with James’ Storybrook character?  Snow White is supposed to be pure and innocent so why are the writers portraying her as a hussy?

3.       3. What is your favorite thing that happened in January?
This is starting to turn into a Debbie Downer post.  I apologize for that.  But winter is not my favorite time of year.  So the best part of January was when it ended.  January was a difficult month for me for various reasons so I was very happy to see it end.  One good thing that happened to me was I found $15 on the floor of the train station.

4.       4. What is the best sound in the world to you?
Besides the sound of D coming in the door after school, my favorite sound is rain.  I’m a Washington girl through and through and I love hearing the rain beat against my window.  It is especially relaxing when I’m lying in bed trying to fall asleep.

5.      5.  What is the biggest lesson you have learned as a Milspouse?
Patience and flexibility.  I have realized that there are many things that I can’t control.  Plans change and things get screwed up.  I’ve had a crash course about patience in the two years since D enlisted and I’m still learning how to let things go that I can’t control.

Well, that’s it!  Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm glad you at least found fifteen bucks to take the sting out of a rough month. I hope February is better for you!
