"He's not in regulation"

Hubby and I were at Target the other day.  We were looking for some tissue paper for a Halloween craft project I wanted to do.  (Stay tuned, I will post pictures.)  On our way to the party aisle, we passed by a display of nutcrackers dressed in Halloween costumes.

Side note: I love nutcrackers.  My family growing up had a nutcracker that we would always display in our home for Christmas.  We never used it to actually crack nuts but I loved it anyway.

So naturally, we stopped to admire the nutcrackers at Target.  And, we saw this one.  It's an army officer.  I laughed with delight at how cute it was.

Hubby laughed too.  But not in delight.  It was more like an "oh-my-gosh-what-will-people-think-of-next" kind of laugh.  He picked it up and looked at it more closely.  And then, the first thing out of his mouth was "he's not in regulation.  He has a beard."  Something you need to understand about Hubby is that he has a very thick beard.  And he's proud of it.  We joke about how it only takes him an hour to grow a beard.  While he was at basic training, he would shave early in the morning and by lunch time, his drill sergeants would ask him if he shaved that morning.  I think he was thinking that he wished he could be like the nutcracker and have his beard in uniform.

*Note: This is not a sponsored post.  I am in no way connected to Target except for the fact that I like to shop there.  All opinions are solely my own.

I have that same nutcracker! I bought it from Target last year. haha My husband is like that too, whenever we watch a show that military in it or that is about military, he always has to point out things that aren't right or aren't in regulation.

Thanks for the sweet comment and for stopping by!
